While it doesn’t happen often, in some cases companies can be removed from Hatch. If a company’s share price falls below $1 USD for 30 days, our US broker DriveWealth starts monitoring it. 

If the share price remains below $1 USD for 60 calendar days, you can’t buy any more shares but can still sell shares you already own.

Why these rules are in place

The New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ sometimes delist companies that have shares prices that stay under $1 for some time. They have strict guidelines for companies listed on their exchanges and prefer businesses with strong share prices. If a company gets delisted your shares can be a lot harder to sell.
