You can deposit money into your Hatch account by transferring money from your NZ bank account to your Hatch account via internet banking, phone banking or your Hnry account.
If you have a personal Hatch account, your deposit needs to be made from a bank account in your name, deposits into Hatch Trust accounts need to be from the Trust's bank account. We can't accept deposits from business accounts. Simply:
- Select ‘Hatch - Kiwi Wealth’ from the registered payees list, or
- Set up Hatch as a payee in your personal New Zealand bank account using these details:

You’ll need to enter your unique reference code, which you'll find on your deposit page in Hatch. This number helps us identify any deposits you make into your Hatch account.
We want your money in Hatch as quickly as you do, see what you can do to put your money to work as soon as possible.
Once we receive your NZD, we exchange them into USD, and you’re able to start investing.
We are unable to accept cash deposits, since they do not come through with bank account details and we have to tie all deposits back to the bank account where they originated.
Depositing USD directly into Hatch
We can't currently accept deposits from any USD accounts (from NZ or overseas), apart from some cases when you're transferring from another broker. This is because of the strict legal requirements to connect you to your money. We are looking into it, and will definitely make a big fuss about it if we're able to make it work!
