If your mobile device or computer has a fingerprint reader or camera equipped for facial recognition, you can use passkeys to log into Hatch instead of your usual email, password and two-factor authentication. Passkeys can be device-specific or synced to a password manager such as Apple Passwords or Google Password Manager and used across multiple devices that share that password manager. You can also set up multiple Hatch passkeys for different devices or browsers. Learn more about passkeys, or get stuck in with our instructions below.

To set up passkeys, all you need to do is:

  1. First check the requirements specific to your device further down this help page

  2. Login to Hatch and open your account menu

  3. Go to Settings > Two-factor authentication > Passkeys

    1. Note: Once you’ve created a passkey, you can come back here to add more passkeys for different devices or otherwise manage your passkeys

  4. Click “Create a Passkey” and follow the prompts to save it either to your device or password manager

Once set up, the next time you sign-in on the same device (or another device using the same password manager/browser), just click the email field and select your passkey to quickly access your Hatch account.

Device requirements

Android

  • Android 9 or higher

For Android 9-13, Google Password Manager is the only option which can store passkeys for your device, and Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers may work best.

Apple

  • iOS 16/iPadOS 16, or higher
    or

  • macOS Ventura or higher

iCloud Keychain/Apple Passwords password manager, and Safari browser may work best.

Windows

  • ChromeOS
    or

  • Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox browsers

🚨 Important: No matter your device, you may need to enable Screen Lock functionality to create a synced passkey, or Bluetooth if you’re using your device to sign in on another device
